Meet The Mentors
BRIAN 'Poison Dart' IVEY
I have been playing Darts since I was 14. My first team was the STC 'T' team playing in the Brixham league. Since then I have played for several teams in Torbay and Stoke Gabriel. In my late teens I had my first taste of Super league Darts playing for the Devonport Arms in Paignton. At present I play my league and super league in Torbay. I have been captain for a few of these teams and took this experience into joining the Paignton Town Dart League Committee, before becoming their Secretary and then Chairman.
In 2018 I was awarded the inaugural Junior Darts Corporation's Community Award, the following year I was asked to be the Manager of the England 'B' Team in Gibraltar.
Brian is the Director and founding member.
SYD FLANNIGAN
Syd has been playing darts for more years than he cares to remember. In this time he has played for several pub teams and super league teams, he has even represented his county. He has played with and against several professional players.
Syd is a founding member, although retired he will always be a Mentor.
MARK 'Rab Bit' LEVERETT
I started playing darts when I was 11 with my mum in the garden. For 6 or 7 years that's all I did, until I joined my first team aged 18. I Played for a pub in the Midlands which lead to playing county darts for Worcestershire. At age 21 I stopped playing and didn't play again until I moved to Torbay in 1996 where I ran The Three Elms Pub in Brixham. This is when I started to play again. Since then I have played for various pubs in and around Brixham and still do today as captain of Brixham sea anglers.
Mark is our Chairman.
VIC 'Hot shot' UGLOW
I first started throwing darts when i was eight, in my parents house. I didn't join my first team until 2011. I started playing super league in 2012 for the Castle in Torquay. In 2017 I got the chance to play my hero 3 times world champion John Lowe who duly beat me. I joined the Academy as a mentor in 2017 after gaining my JDC level 1 international coaching certifcate.
